Overview

As the only aerial tramway in Southeast Alaska, guests at the Goldbelt Tram are invited to soar to new heights in scenic adventure aboard Juneau's top attraction. We offer locals and visitors an opportunity to experience breathtaking Alaska scenery, explore the miles of trails atop Mount Roberts, and learn more about Alaska Native culture. 

 

SUMMARY 

 

Responsible for the courteous and efficient delivery and serving of food and beverage items to Tramway restaurant guests, in order to ensure guest satisfaction, a premier customer service atmosphere and smooth operations.

 

Pay and Benefits

Seasonal Employees are eligible for the Seasonal Sign-on Bonus and Layoff Employee Bonus Plan (“Plans”) is designed to provide an effective means to motivate and compensate eligible seasonal employees during the term of their assignment. However, Goldbelt, Inc. may, in certain limited circumstances, grant discretionary performance bonuses outside of this program, in the sole discretion of the Company.

Goldbelt, Inc. hopes that by providing short-term incentive compensation, this will motivate and increase the retention rate among its employees which in turn will enhance Goldbelt Inc.’s long-term value.

 

Salary Range: DOE $14.00 - DOE

Qualifications

 

NECESSARY SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Ability to meet time and attendance requirements.
  • Ability to work all different shifts including holidays and weekends.
  • Ability to provide quality customer service.
  • Ability to handle stress under pressure.
  • Knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures related to food serving.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to learn, understand, and follow oral and written and instructions/directions.
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with other employees.
  • Ability to work directly with the public, providing information and assistance on a daily basis.
  • Ability/willingness to learn and pass on to guests those areas of interest to visitors, such as local history, people, culture, geography, etc.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (education, experience, skills)

  • One (1) year of wait staff experience in a high-volume environment.
  • Current Training for Alcohol Professionals (TAP) card.
  • Must be able to legally serve alcohol in the State of Alaska.
  • State of Alaska Food Workers Card.
  • Ability to successfully pass the background check.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (education, experience, skills)

  • Current CPR and first aid certificates; drug testing may be required.
  • Prior Tram Operations experience.

 

 

Responsibilities

JOB DUTIES

  • Takes food and beverage orders from restaurant guests.
  • Responsible for the accuracy of orders they ring up. Ensures that charges for ordered items are correct and totaled, coordinating efforts with Food & Beverage Manager, Front of House Supervisor, or Bar Supervisor.
  • Responsible for gaining knowledge in all menu items and be able to describe ingredients in menu items to each guest.
  • Must be skilled in sales building by learning techniques to build add on sales including, appetizers, desserts, special promotional items, second beverages, and up selling alcoholic beverages.
  • Must attend any scheduled front of house meetings and wine serving classes.
  • Serves food and beverage items quickly and efficiently; completes all assigned side work quickly and according to instructions or specifications.
  • Assist in running hot food when it first comes up in the cook’s window.
  • Maintains work areas in a clean and neat manner.
  • Responsible for keeping wait station stocked and set.
  • Responsible for completing opening and closing side work.
  • Responsible for doing the pre-bus of all assigned tables.
  • Does check backs within two minutes of the guests receiving their food.
  • Assist co-workers as needed to ensure guest satisfaction and smooth operations.
  • Directs Bussers in resetting tables for new guests as quickly as possible and assist them when needed.
  • Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
