Overview

Position Summary

The Executive Assistant provides comprehensive administrative and logistical support to the Executive Director, ensuring the smooth operation of the organization. This role requires a high level of organizational skills, discretion, and a deep respect for Indigenous cultures and communities.

Qualifications

Qualifications: 

  • Proven experience as an Executive Assistant or similar role.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Discretion and ability to handle confidential information.
  • Interest in and respect for Indigenous cultures.
  • Position will be exposed to multiple allergens including cedar and wool (sheep and mountain goat).

  • Must be willing to travel to local and regional events via plane, car, ferry, etc. as needed

  • Needs a valid AK driver's license

  • Knowledge of Lingít preferred.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a nonprofit or community-based organization.
  • Experience with database management systems.
  • Knowledge of Indigenous cultural protocols and practices

The salary for this position is $60,000 + DOE

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provide high-level administrative support to the Executive Director, including managing calendars, scheduling appointments, and coordinating travel arrangements.
  • Prepare correspondence, reports, and presentations as required.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing communications, including email, phone calls, and mail.
  • Coordinate meetings, conferences, and events, including logistics and arrangements.
  • Maintain confidential information with the utmost discretion.
  • Manage office operations, including office supplies, equipment, and facilities.
  • Assist with financial management tasks as needed, such as expense reports and budget tracking.
  • Represent the organization professionally in interactions with stakeholders, including Indigenous communities, donors, and partners.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of positive relationships with Indigenous communities.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
