SUMMARY

Responsible for the management of all Goldbelt’s Juneau based operations, including tourism companies and all land and real estate owned by the Company, (33,000 acres of ANCSA land holdings), according to established operating agreements, contracts, and corporate policies and procedures; thoroughly identify, evaluate, screen, recommend, and review with the CEO, the CFO, and the Board of Directors, new and existing business opportunities which align with the Company’s strategic plan. The Executive Vice President is responsible for Lands Management, Facility Management, Project Management, and Tourism Management.

The Executive Vice President is responsible for the results of subsidiary operations included within the commercial Alaska Division; responsible for each subsidiary achieving the goals and strategies included in its strategic plan while ensuring the strategies support Goldbelt Incorporated’s Strategic Plan.

The position acts on behalf of Goldbelt, Incorporated as the majority owner or sole owner in each subsidiary and advises the representatives from Goldbelt Incorporated that act as “Manager” of the subsidiaries under his/her responsibility.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science degree in the field of Business, Management, or related field.
• Minimum ten (10) years’ experience in management at a senior operations level with multiple direct reports.
• Demonstrated success with full P&L responsibility of a successful company.
• Ability to successfully pass a background and credit check.
• Ability to obtain and maintain secret or higher-level clearance.
• Ability to travel at least 30% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in business administration.
• Previous experience working with Alaska Native Corporations (ANCs).

Essential Job Functions:

• Provides counsel and advice on all operational issues to the General Mangers (GM) of the subsidiaries; prepares an annual evaluation of each General Manager; makes recommendations to the President & CEO of Goldbelt, Incorporated regarding salary adjustments for each GM; recommends removal or replacement of subsidiary GM if in his/her judgment, performance has not been up to expectations and such action would be beneficial to the Group.
• Provides leadership in the development for the continuous evaluation of short and long-term strategic objectives for commercial operations, land, and real estate.
• Responsible for the management of all Alaska-based operations including all land and real estate (33,000 acres of ANCSA land holdings).
• Responsible for the growth, strategic planning, and profitability objectives of the Goldbelt Tram, LLC, Goldbelt Transportation, LLC, Seadrome facility, CP Leasing, LLC, and Goldbelt Security (Commercial Services), LLC, and future new business.
• Responsible for planning, development, and maintenance of all Goldbelt ANCSA lands and resources, including real estate; work with federal, state, and local agencies to ensure Goldbelt’s strategic planning objectives regarding its lands and resources, are progressing as planned and expected by the board of directors, President & CEO, and senior management team.
• Oversee the development and implementation of strategic and tactical business plans with enterprise managers, ensures business objectives and timelines are followed and align with the company’s overall strategic planning.
• Evaluates and advises on the impact of long-range planning, introduction of new programs/strategies and regulatory action.
• Provide recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities.
• Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
• Develop short- and long-term operational strategies in partnership with senior team members and provide the leadership necessary for the successful design, development, and execution of that strategy to achieve measurable outcomes in a timely, cost-effective manner.
• Lead and manage a highly productive, motivated, and driven team through strong communication, empowerment, reward and coaching techniques.
• Maintain close working relationships with partner groups in functional areas, including Human Resources, Accounting, IT, and Executive Leadership.
• Partner with the business unit leaders and other key stakeholders to drive change and implement new business processes.
• Highly proficient in public speaking and presentation. Needs to be able to present internally to the Board of Directors as well as externally to community and business organizations on behalf of Goldbelt.
• Manage and approve the preparation and submission of business planning information including budgets (revenue, costs, and profit projections), cost estimates, salary planning and investment funds requests.
• Conduct monthly contract reviews for monthly performance against budget projections (direct labor, revenue, profit, discretionary spending, AR, etc.)
• Manage the development of subcontractor specifications, statements of work and evaluation criteria; leads source selections and negotiation teams and monitors subcontract costs and schedules.
• Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
